Xbox Smart Glass

Xbox Smart Glass
Microsoft has a new application for its Xbox 360 to interact with TVs, smartphones and tablets.
Every year at this time of year the show at E3 opens its doors for us with future games and other video game consoles to come out. The latter also taking advantage of embedded browsers, it is also an opportunity for manufacturers to showcase their new small software. As far as Microsoft, the announcement of Xbox Smart Glass has caught our attention. Announced alongside Xbox Music services and Internet Explorer at its conference, the application is based on the interaction between the Xbox 360, TVs and phones / tablets but also Windows and Android IOS.

We already knew the cross-platform via the Xbox Live service from Microsoft that is focused on the game while allowing to find his avatar and his scores on his smartphone, but the ambition of the Xbox Smart Glass is greater. Next will be open to other markets by offering on-demand services (such as Xbox Music quoted above), the application will enable media sharing. This will make it possible to start watching a movie on his smartphone then finish it on their TV or the tablet, and vice versa. Microsoft wanted to add some features to it, not very useful, but interesting nonetheless. It includes as well a function to geographically locate the scenes of a movie for viewing via the map displayed on a third, a tablet for example.

Functions in a little more traditional, we will find the ability to control its console since its smartphone or tablet, instead of using its handle. Not much interest will you tell us, well if. As we mentioned a little higher, Microsoft plans to integrate its Internet Explorer browser to its console, which will then also be controlled via your smartphone. If the control does not show an incredible accuracy, the address entry should always be more practice and functions such as zoom should be more accessible with the pad of the console.

Finally, the Xbox 360 is first and foremost a game console, this aspect has obviously not been forgotten. Xbox Smart Glass will provide access to information about games, as well as interact with them. How specifically, we do not know yet but it was announced Halo 4 would be one of the first games to take advantage of these features.

Xbox Smart Glass should be available for Windows, iOS and Android. Lot of information yet to be revealed, including its release date. Patience, patience ...
