Apple VS Google Maps Maps
Rumors had been circulating for a while already on the canvas, and were confirmed on Monday at the presentation of iOS 6 to the opening conference of the WWDC: the geolocation service for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad no longer depend on Google Maps, but will indeed be provided by Apple itself, with a little help from TomTom, do not forget. From the very first iPhone, it is certain that everyone took his little habits and the next application is expected at the turn. For now only available to developers in the beta version of the OS, Apple has already been decrypted Maps by our fellow iPhone.

In terms of the Outline view, nothing revolutionary to report. Apple cards are not particularly ugly but nevertheless appear quite "empty". Indeed, Apple has chosen to adjust the amount of information at the level of zoom, zoom ... it will be necessary far zoom in to see the name of some streets, however, are not especially deep in the narrow streets of the United States. Note also the lack of subway stations, an unfortunate oversight that we hope to see filled in future updates.

Some may also be missed by StreetView. In return, the application Apple provides a way Flyover, a way to virtually visit major world cities through an environment "realistic" and interactive 3D.

Satellite view in contrast, proposes a view similar to that proposed by Google Maps. Roads and streets reflected in the application much more Made in Apple, but as said above, there is a smaller amount of screen information, and parts of the globe that have vanished in the clouds .. .

Regarding the traffic service, it is still too early to tell, Apple has announced that this information would be based on the user community ... which is currently limited to developers. The screenshots do not show, for now, a lot of information. However, since Google's service, the application should indicate the disruption on the roads and the reasons for these disturbances in order to determine their duration.

Side navigation is perhaps Apple pulls out of the game eventually. If the route calculation leads to a similar result for a trip from point A to point B, it was during this trip that the new application differs by giving instructions in real time like a true GPS.

If it helps to get an idea of what will give this application, and perhaps anticipate some disappointment for some, we still prefer to wait to test the final version of the service, scheduled for the next school year, before we vote. It must be recognized that the implementation of Google seems more complete and continues to lead ...
