The company Apple announced plans to abandon the service of Google Maps for its next OS, while his last are in partnership since 2007. And yes, Apple wants to differentiate themselves by offering a 3D mapping service to its users (more comprehensive and fast). However, the Web giant has no intention to double. The latter announced an update of its service in the coming weeks.
Google announced the update of its mapping service, Google Maps, at a conference and at the same time that Google Earth. The upgrade could androphones especially pleasing since it allows to use the service even while offline through its terminal. Brian McClendon, VP of engineering at Google Maps says: "This means that the next time you're in the subway or elsewhere, without connection, you can still access your card." This new feature should be effective in a hundred countries.

Other advances will be deduced in urban 3D for Google Earth. Indeed, with technological advances, the U.S. firm was quickly able to generalize the 3D cityscapes, buildings, landscapes from aerial photographs taken at 45 °. Available since 2006 in relief, this is a big step forward.

Another improvement, the Trekker Street View, a portable machine that can shoot in places not accessible to vehicles like the Grand Canyon. Note that Google Maps had recently been allowed to photograph various places like, inside the White House, or the Amazon rainforest, the archaeological site of Pompeii. Maybe its 2D images in 3D will also spend?

Finally, at the conference, McClendon says that optimization Map Maker is underway. Since 2008 the service makes a change and improve yourself Google Map. Originally Map Maker was designed for countries with no access to the full service of Google Maps. Now it will land in other countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Luxembourg etc..
