SFR EAP-SIM and WiFi in the subway

SFR EAP-SIM and WiFi in the subway
Last night, SFR has invited bloggers to present the technologies that the operator will propose in the weeks and months ahead. SFR offers two novelties should particularly appeal to users: The wifi in the metro and RER Paris and EAP-SIM.
The first major announcement of SFR covers the installation of the EAP-SIM at the national level. This technology, called by SFR WiFi Auto Connect, allows subscribers to the operator to connect via WiFi for free and without need for access codes due to 4 million boxes of the operator present on French territory. SFR is testing this technology in the south of France since the beginning of the year, and it will eventually spread throughout France next Friday. Unfortunately for many users, this option is currently only available for terminals iOS 5 (iPhone and iPad), because the service is not yet sufficiently developed according to the SFR extend to all smartphones.

Then, SFR has to share its mobilization to install WiFi in the Paris metro. Through an association with Naxos, a subsidiary of RATP Telecom, SFR will develop WiFi hotspots in some of the largest Paris metro stations, as Auber or Star. Still in beta testing, Vodafone aims to cover the larger stations in Paris.
